Transforming Archives into Education” (TAE)

"Transforming Archives into Education" (TAE) is a training course that shows educators, researchers, and archivists how to turn historical documents, photographs, and multimedia into practical learning tools. Instead of treating archives as old, unused records, the course teaches interactive ways to bring them into lesson plans, exhibitions, and digital resources that spark critical thinking. The goal is to help young people connect with history in a meaningful way and see archives as living tools for understanding the past and driving social change.

FSL's Role in TAE

For FSL, TAE connects non-formal education, historical literacy, and youth engagement with the practical realities of archival work. Within the project, FSL organizes the training course and contributes its experience in non-formal learning and community-based approaches, drawing on its mission to empower young people and build societies rooted in human rights, diversity, and shared responsibility. FSL also facilitates the collaboration with the Museum of Resistance in Esch-sur-Alzette, helping ensure that the methods developed are practical, transferable, and meaningful for educators across Europe.
